Lunch Time!!!

Ailyn walked into the cafeteria, sniffing in anticipation, as her stomach grumbled. She scanned the selections for the day and grinned. There was hot dogs, turkey clubs, and pizza. After a moment of indecision, she chose the club, along with fries and a side of broccoli with ranch dressing. Taking her tray to an empty table, she pulled out her pocket notebook and began to look over the material from Instructor Sjet's class the day before.

Shawna walked through the room, nose buried in a book, as it usually is when she's procrastinating. She walked beside a selection of fruit, casually selecting a banana and an apple. She purchased these before she meandered over to an empty table in the corner, dodging a few of the younger students who were overly energetic.

Myghin traipsed in, her bag sliding down off of her shoulder as she collected food from the line. She glanced over and, noticing Ailyn, decided to sit near her. She settled her tray down and smiled at her. "Studying for Instructor Sjet's class?"

Startled, Ailyn looked up. Seeing Myghin, she smiled and replied, "Yeah. I gotta make sure I do well in the class. I mean I've already been through it once but still." She nibbled at the edge of her sandwich.

"I see..." Myghin picked up her pizza, which looked surprisingly greasy. A napkin was procured before she began to soak up the grease off of it. "I have to take that class in the fall. Instructor Sjet offered me a preview before I took it."

"That's cool. If you ever need any help in it, don't hesitate to ask." Ailyn wrinkled her nose at the greasy napkin and picked at her broccoli. "So are you going to take the SeeD exam next spring?"

"Yeah, as soon as I'm fifteen." Myghin grinned happily as she folded her napkin and set it to the side of her tray. Picking up the pizza, she scarfed it down after pulling out a book and setting it down to read. "Just have a couple of more classes to take in the fall and I'll qualify. And that written exam... gotta take that."

Ailyn winced at the mention of the written exam. "Yeah the written exam. It's really not all that hard. Just study some and it's a breeze. I'm retaking it this coming spring." Ailyn looked around and spotted Shawna. "Hey Shawna!" she called out.

Nodding, Myghin looked over at the new girl Ailyn called over. "Shawna?" She wasn't familiar with this student, although something nagged at her about it. Wasn't she also a junior cadet? Ah well. Finishing her pizza, the strawberry blonde glanced back at her book before snapping it closed, convinced that she did well on her exam.

Ailyn glanced at her watch and her eyes widened. "Oh no, I gotta go. I'm gonna be late." And with that she grabbed the remainder of her sandwich and her notebook and ran out of the cafeteria.

Shawna, just realising that someone was talking to her, looked up from her book. She blinked, looking about trying to see who it was. No one was looking at her. she shrugged and picked up the remains of her lunch. She went to throw them away, this time tripping over the boys who were roughhousing earlier.
